Taoitekura Eruera
Graduate Intern
Ko Ngāti Awa, Ngai Tuhoe, Tuhourangi, Ngati Tuwharetoa ōku iwi.
Taoitekura Eruera grew up in her home town Te Teko, which drives her to carry her degree with her whānau and hapu being centred in her life. She works and lives by a quote once said by her koroua Eruera Manuera, “Ko tōku marae tōku Whare Wananga, ko tōku whare wananga tōku marae.” which translates to, “my marae is my university, my university is my marae”. Each day she grows and learns more passionate about striving to design better housing occupations for her Māori people in hopes that whānau that live away from home can one day return and use their own marae and communities as their own university.
Taoitekura actively seeks opportunities to launch her career to gain the knowledge that will ensure a better future for her hapu, iwi, whānau and Māori people.
